What if she meant it in a different way? I don't know the exact wording of her statement, so this may be completly rubbish, but please bear with me. We all assume she meant BO2 wasn't because of SR2, right? Well, what if by "altered timeline" she meant the one Mobeius created. Mobeius controlled and manipulated to try and get Raziel into the Reaver, but what if she meant not that route, but the original route, the "true destiny" route?

But the gist of what he said was "We're making our own game here with our own ideas which will be independant of the other LoK games." Which basically meant: "Eidos have given us money to make someone else's game, and now they're looking over our shoulder to make sure they get that money back." Whether the next games will account for the BO2 inconstistencies I don't know, but they are currently just that - bloopers and corporate interfering.

Posts: 418 (07/28/02 12:15 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have no idea who might have said what when or where (and I'm not a member at the Eidos forums so I can't search for it there), but according to the timeline on the SR2 bonus features (for PS2) the events of BO2 occur after the purple dotted line indicating the altered timeline in BO1 (this is the one everyone means, isn't it?). It's probably an exercise in hairsplitting, but that sort of indicates to me that no, BO2 literally isn't 'on the altered timeline' (ie, contained within the loop of the original alteration). Besides, isn't BO2 (not to mention SR and SR2) technically a result of Kain refusing the sacrifice at the pillars, not of Moebius' or anyone else's meddling with the timeline? If he'd been a good boy and done as he was expected to there wouldn't have been any more vampires, no BO2 etc... RazielFan

I mean when Mobeius made it so that Raziel got killed at the end of SR2, his true destiny being averted by Mobeius' meddling.

Moebius, though a mere puppet of the Hylden or any other dark force, orchestrated everything. He orchestrated not only William's death, but Kain's travel through time, the murder of the Circle, Vorador's beheading, and even the damning of Nosgoth. Before Kain went travelling through time, he found no fun in killing, he only killed in self-defense, or to feed. But after being betrayed and manipulated by Moebius, came upon the epiphany that Vorador was correct, vampires are dark gods whose sole duty is to thin the herd(that would be us), and thus damned Nosgoth after defeating Hash ak' gik'. That's how cunning Moebius is. How could you not see that?

And how can you say that free-will is an illusion considering that the next LoK is called Defiance? Think about it.

I don't think Mobeius has much power over Time - he only has the knowledge of how to travel to different points in it, but what he does is still not his choice. joey.alcopop.org/

He did it to feed himself, sure, but it certainly seemed like he was amused by it. Having fun, even. I think Kain was probably a sadistic bastard even when he was human. I'm preparing a thread on that topic ... though I'm currently trying to remember if I'd started one on it before. *** Catapultam habeo. And for that, almost everyone tries to use him, and calls him nasty names, besides (Janos Audron seems to be the notable exception here). Sucks to be him. Being honorable is hard and thankless. Who is the prime manipulator in all this? After they added that bunch of extraplanar villains in BO2, I'm afraid to ask. WARNING Spoiler alert. It is revealed (finally!) in SR2 that because of the murder of Ariel, Kain is infected with Nupraptor's madness from his very first breath. BO2 hardly shows him at his best. But with SR2, and now the crossover Defiance, I keep hoping they're going to temper the egomaniacal, homicidal Kain down to let his better side show. Whatever else Kain was, he was honorable, at least. Most of the time.

One could have figured out that Kain was mad in BO, when it was revealed he was a member of the Circle. It was only logical. But yes, Kain is very interesting, and I am curious about what he was like - or would have been like, if he had never been driven mad. "Was" or "would have" depends on the original timeline, I guess. ^^ I wouldn't mind seeing him as a more balanced character, pardon any pun. About the rest: I also want to know who is really - furthest? - behind this, and what they're trying to accomplish.
