George Carlin: Now, you wouldn't know it from some of the things I've said over the years - but I like people. I do. I like people, but I like them in short bursts. I don't like people for extended periods of time. I'm alright with them for a little while, but once you get up past around... a minute, minute 'n' a half - I gotta get the fuck outa there. And my reason for this is one that you may share, possibly; I have a very low tollerance level for stupid bullshit. And everyone wants to tell ya their stupid bullshit. |

They get a visa, and if they don't sign on to the biometric thing afterwards... I'm not sure what they do. They probably don't explicitly say that
they'll through you out or revoke your visa, but they probably would like to, even though they are so incompetent they'd never manage to do it.

Well, it does seem a bit extreme. Wasn't Obama trying to do something like the NHS, and so needs everyone to have health insurance or it won't work?
At least here it's a bit different: The NHS is paid for through national insurance. You have to pay national insurance if you work more than 16 hours week, otherwise you're guilty of tax evasion. If you choose to work under 16 hours, and therefore you don't pay the tax, you get free healthcare like the rest of us, but you don't get a pension when you retire.

Aradiel, sounds like they're trying to exclude rich people who don't need NHS from paying the tax..
As for Pelosi, she's a total C, but apparently they keep her there because she has a history of getting things passed. But really, if this becomes the national system then there's nothing wrong with having it as a mandatory tax. And therefore, like other taxes, you get in trouble for evading it. |

If you earn over 150k in the UK you pay 50% tax. Most people with over 25K would or at least should get private healthcare. The NHS is an ok system, not
perfect, but at least the very poor get a doctor almost as soon as they need it. :P Waiting lists anyone? I was put on the waiting list for my tonsils when I
was five, had them out when I was 11 and was supposed to have an op to have my sinuses widened but because they left the tonsils in so long the second op would
have been really painful and complicated, so my mum chose to let me decide when I was older. I decided not to. :P

I can't wait. Hope it doesn't take too long to appear on the internets. Since they take forever to air here in the states.
Blarg, I'm frustrated today. I want to get some experience working in an office type environment. All the places hiring full time want experienced as hell people. So fine, I'll try some temp agencies. A couple of them tell me that even with temps, places are looking for experienced folks due to the economy and what not. It's like....they all want me experienced, but no one will give me the experience. Pisses me off. I need ice cream.
